What is Multicultural Programs?
Lawrence Technological University's Multicultural Programs is devoted to increasing the recruitment, retention, and graduation of Lawrence Tech students, particularly underrepresented groups, including racial and ethnic minorities, women, and gay/lesbian/ bisexual/transgender students.
What does Multicultural Programs do?
Dedicated to the academic and social success of all students, Multicultural Programs provides opportunities for the Lawrence Tech community at large, encouraging students to engage in a wide variety of learning activities that focus on different cultures, backgrounds, and races. The organization offers events and programs throughout the year, including welcome receptions; cultural programs that provide forums for the enhancement of students' intellectual, social, and personal development; and discussions and lectures that focus on relevant social, cultural, and academic issues. Multicultural Programs also supports the various multicultural student organizations active on campus. Through these experiences, students from all backgrounds can gain a broader understanding of the people who make up their local communities and the larger global community in which they live.
In keeping with the University's mission, Multicultural Programs is committed to the development of Lawrence Tech students as responsible leaders, global citizens, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners.
