Kangas wins SRG Global design award

Daniel Kangas, a transportation design student at Lawrence Technological University, has won SRG Global Inc.’s Coach Builder Design Award. It was presented during the Motorcity Automotive Industry Night (MAIN) Event on Jan. 12 at Orchestra Hall in Detroit.

Kangas’ winning design will become SRG Global’s virtual car, and will be used on the company’s website. It will be incorporated into the company’s suite of mobile applications as a way to showcase its products and finishes.

SRG Global Creative Director of Design and Marketing Patrick Ayoub and Keith Nagara, director of transportation design at LTU, created the semester-long competition to challenge students to design a SRG Global-branded vehicle that incorporated the company’s products as well as future technologies and trends.

A global supplier of chrome plated plastic parts and high-value coatings with offices in Warren, SRG Global manufactures grilles, nameplates, rocker panels, door handles, body side moldings, and other decorative trim.
