JOB DUTIES: The College of Architecture and Design seeks an innovative, resourceful, and experienced academic leader to fill a full-time non-tenure track chair position, for the duration of one year. Responsibilities include overseeing scheduling, managing the departmental budget, monitoring curriculum and degree programs, as well as initiating and maintaining communications within the College, the community and local or national professional organizations. The position combines both administrative and teaching roles. Ideal candidates should demonstrate distinguished records of nationally or internationally recognized work in practice, research and/or teaching.

QUALIFICATIONS: The applicant must have earned a MFA, or degree in equivalent field. The applicant must demonstrate strong academic leadership, including program stewardship and support of faculty and student development; excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain the confidence and respect of faculty, students, staff, alumni, and the professional community.

JOB DUTIES: The Department of Natural Sciences at Lawrence Technological University invites applications for a full-time tenure Assistant Professor in physics for academic year 2014-2015. The successful candidate will teach all levels of undergraduate physics and will excel in teaching and scholarship. Nanoscience, nanotechnology, experimental optics and lasers, high energy, atomic, biologically oriented physics, emphasis on life sciences, and interdisciplinary research.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A PhD in physics is required and postdoctoral experience. Exceptional candidates in any area and at any level are encouraged to apply, although experimental optics and lasers, biologically oriented physics, high energy physics, nanoscience, nanotechnology, and atomic physics are of particular interest. Prior teaching experience is a plus.

JOB DUTIES: The Center for Innovative Materials Research (CIMR) of the Department of Civil Engineering at Lawrence Technological University invites applications for two positions: a Research Assistant Professor and a Postdoctoral Research Associate in FIRE, SMOKE, and TOXICITY (FST). Responsibilities include working closely with the principal investigator and collaborators on developing test protocols for FST for materials, components, and subsystems, as well as conducting FST material tests. Additional responsibilities include assisting to publish completed work.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering field. The successful candidates will have expertise in materials testing for fire, smoke and toxicity, and have familiarity with existing standards in these areas. Outstanding communication skills in spoken and written English are expected.
