Transfer Evaluation Process

Only credits earned at institutions accredited by one of the regional accrediting agencies will be considered for transfer. Regional accreditation does not automatically result in transferability of course work. The university departments determine the equivalency of all course work.

The posting of transfer courses on the transfer student’s academic record will follow receipt of “official” transcripts from all institutions previously attended. Transfer credit evaluations completed on your behalf prior to the review of all final, official transcripts are tentative and are to be used for advising purposes only.

Courses in which a grade of ”C” (2.00) or better on a 4.00 scale was received are eligible to be transferred towards your degree. Only the credit, which is equivalent to the courses required into your desired program, will be transferred to LTU. 

Students transferring from a community college or junior colleges may transfer from 60 credits maximum. Students transferring from a four-year university may transfer up to 90 credits. A student attending both a community college and four year university may transfer up to 90 combined credits maximum. Please contact the Admissions Office if you have any questions regarding your transfer credit.

Students transferring from a quarter system institution will have all course work converted to a semester credit scale according to the following:
