Prof. Favro has been at LTU since 1973 first part-time (while also learning clay craft at Pewabic Pottery) then full-time since 1983. She teaches many of the math curriculum courses, and developed nonstandard courses Math Modeling and Geometry in Art. Prior to coming to LTU she was a member of the Mathematics Department at the Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute (Polytechnic University).

Originally from the Boston, MA area, Prof. Favro has an AB from Wellesley College in the History of Art, an MS from New York University in Mathematics, and has done further work at Wayne State University. At Lawrence Tech she coaches math competitions and outside of school enjoys squash and bicycling, as well as occasional fly-fishing.

Professional activities have included being Director of the Michigan Math Prize Competition and Chair of the Michigan Section of the Mathematical Association of America. She is currently the Section's Governor, serves on committees for the National MAA, and is a coach for the Michigan teams competing in the American Regions Math League.
