Bridget Moricz

The Academic Achievement Center staff and tutors wish to congratulate our Natural Science Tutor Bridget Moricz, who has been selected as the 2014-2015 AAC Tutor of the Year.

The tutor of the year award recognizes the outstanding contributions of a student tutor who fulfills the AAC’s mission to educate, empower, and inspire fellow students to become independent and successful lifelong learners. Nominees for the award are judged based on their ability to facilitate student learning, their creativity and initiative in executing tutoring sessions, and their modeling of academic integrity and enthusiasm for learning.

"I am in the Molecular and Cell Biology program and I tutor mainly biology and chemistry. I am a huge science nerd especially concerning anything that has to do with viruses. I even own a cold virus plush toy! I can even make ice-cream using liquid nitrogen but if I have no nitrogen on hand I can still bake awesome desserts. I may have a slight reading addiction… Barnes and Noble knows me on first name basis! If there is music I will dance, if you can call the monster mash a dance move. I go all out for Halloween – my dorm room was unrecognizable all through October because of the decorations. In my free time I like jumping into large piles of leaves, flying kites, and sledding.  I would like to get a PhD in virology and research the evolution of viruses and their hosts’ adaptions to that evolution. However, when I retire I would like to open up a bookstore and bakery in Ireland." - Bridget Moricz

Congratulations Bridget!
